Theory of Operation

Our Birotary Engine is three cylinder spark ignition engine with two combustion chambers. Each combustion chamber is equipped with its own intake and exhaust port. Cylinder block rotates counter direction of rotation of crankshaft. Crankshaft and cylinder block is connected by means of planetary gear set with the gear ratio of three. Cylinder block rotates in the stationary case, in which the intake, exhaust ports and spark plugs are placed.

Four stroke work cycle is done every 720° of relative angle, which means 180° of cylinder block angle + 540° of crankshaft angle rotating counter each other. Rotating cylinder block fulfills also the function of slide valvetrain and provides charge exchange in cylinders. This concept has been patented.
